Nicole Mitchell Murphy, a celebrated Hollywood star has made her first visit to Kenya, a trip that she says has surpassed her expectations. Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and other government officials celebrated her arrival with a vibrant and colorful reception.
Upon her arrival, the atmosphere turned electric, with the enchanting rhythms of Maasai dancers filling the air. This reflected the rich culture and hallmark hospitality that Kenya is famous for. Nicole used the moment to engage the local media to share her inspiration for visiting Kenya.
She is touring Kenya with Lovince Mckenzie, a Kenyan-born artist. The delegation has a documentary project that aims to break the stereotypes Western media have of Kenya and Africa as a whole. They will travel across Kenya as they share their experiences with their online audience.
“On television, they show a little boy or a little girl, no clothes on, a big belly. It’s like they are starving, flies all over her face and that is the image they are portraying to us in the state (US),” Nicole says.
Their visit comes at a strategic time when tourists from all over the world travel to Kenya to witness the great migration spectacle in which millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelope trek thousands of kilometers from Tanzania’s Serengeti to Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

“You guys have a beautiful city, you have beautiful beaches, you have the animals and you have an economy that people don’t know about. This visit coming here is extremely important and I will be educating them back home on Kenya and Africa.”
Murphy’s visit will indeed play a big role in putting Kenya on a global stage for tourism. “It is a lifetime opportunity and her major visit here and we believe that her experience will serve as a testament to what Kenya is.” Ms Miano said.
In addition, Nicole graciously agreed to partner with the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), allowing her content for destination endorsements. This is great for the country’s tourism sector and other investment opportunities. Her huge following on social platforms is something to envy.
